I cannot help you with the error "Error building Admin Menus", maybe a Joomla problem?

For the db issue:

When you upgrade 2.2 to 2.3:
============================
ALTER TABLE `jos_uddeim` ADD `delayed` INT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0' ;
ALTER TABLE `jos_uddeim` ADD INDEX ( `delayed` ) ;
ALTER TABLE `jos_uddeim_emn` ADD `moderated` INT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0' ;

Admin Component menu not showing up in the backend for me either. But my case seems to be a bit different. I have the new Joomla 1.6.1 stable install and I'm not using uddeIM (though, that sounds pretty cool).

I'm JUST trying to get the "comprofiler.zip" file to install the admin main core for Community Builder on the Components menu for the backend. I've uninstalled it and re-installed a few times but that doesn't help.

It says it installed correctly, but I get the same error "Error building Admin Menus"

And when I uninstall it, it says "Could not delete the administrator menus"

How should I proceed to get this to work correctly? I have no issues uninstalling CB since I haven't activated it on the front end yet.

For uddeIM you will find the solution here:
www.joomlapolis.com/forum/25-uddeim-plugin-and-component/157512-solved-j16-problems-with-non-created-admin-menus

Maybe it it the same with comprofiler.zip. Since you are in the wrong forum here I can only guess.

Its the same story with the 1.7! (and its very good that i remember that i already asked this question, so i googled "uddeim menu lukoie", and came back here)
I've fixed menu item as you described though, by uninstalling component, deleting those 2 entries manually(heidiSQL is the best app!), and then reinstalling. But i never had such a problem with the other components.

The problem only appears very rarely but lots of components are affected, see

www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=de&rlz=&q=%22Error+building+Admin+Menus%22+joomla&oq=%22Error+building+Admin+Menus%22+joomla

It seems that Joomla sometimes writes invalid menu entries and stumbles across them when you try to repeat the installation. Currently there is no solution for this problem which exists from Joomla 1.6 and better.
