A query will work just fine. Then add the code to display it in whatever format you want.

Is it possible at this time for moderators to reward medals to users?

Yes, when it's a standalone plugin component. Right now it's simply an ADDITION to jAwards.

I hope it will be compactible with Joomla 1.5 Native would be ofcourse awesome...
