404 Error when replying

This seems to be different from the other 404 threads i've read on here... maybe...

Every time a user replies to a message, the following 404 error is displayed

You may not be able to visit this page because of:

1. an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
2. a search engine that has an out-of-date listing for this site
3. a mistyped address
4. you have no access to this page
5. The requested resource was not found.
6. An error has occurred while processing your request.

Please try one of the following pages:

* Home Page

If difficulties persist, please contact the System Administrator of this site.

It happens only during a reply, but the reply is still sent.
Using Joomla 1.5 and uddeIM 1.2
I also have the SEF Urls turned off, so that probably isn't the problem.


Any suggestions?

Maybe its a problem with your htaccess file.

i'm fairly new to joomla, could you explain more what could be wrong with the htaccess file that would cause such an error?

i just noticed that in the browser's url it seems as though it is adding in some extra junk after sending the reply. so its trying to go to website.com/index.php?http://website_com/option=com_uddeim&Itemid=62

is that normal? doesn't seem like it to me. as it probably should be going to website.com/index.php?option=com_uddeim&Itemid=62

anyone know where i would look or how exactly i could fix this?

Sorry, thats not uddeIM related. Maybe you should ask in the forums at Joomla.org.

Check your Joomla setup. Maybe the "live path" is not correct, maybe SEF is not configured correctly, maybe there is a bug in your htaccess configuration (BasePath), etc.

finally got it fixed.
and i hate to say, but it actually was a problem with uddeIM.

how i fixed it-

simple enough, under uddeIM settings in the system tab, there is an option to "Overwrite Itemid". I checked that and no longer get the 404 error after replying to messages.
