uddeIM 0.6b+ (0.5b with some enhancements)

Entries are created when a user uses uddeIM the first time.

I see...

So, basically even if I have set mail notification to "on" for all users, if I send a message to a user that has not yet used uddeim the user will not receive any email...

Are you planning to change this feature so that configuration set in the back-end by admin applies before a user sets-up his own account?

If not, I might need to hack this, so that whenever a message is sent to a user, it checks for an entry in jos_uddeim_emn and if the entry is not there, it creates it.

Do you think it makes sense?

Pietro

The problem is that uddeIM does not maintain a user database. So when you create a new user in CB or Joomla how should uddeIM know that there is a new user?

One solution would be to store the notification flags (and all other flags) in Jommla's user table (so when a new user is created this field is created with a standard value) but I dislike modifying system tables.

Another solution is to add a sync button in uddeIM backend, so you have to sync the user databases manually (I do not think it would be a good idea to do it automatically).

So actually uddeIM waits until a new user opens his inbox and creates all required records then.

It should actually be fairly easy to create a CB plugin that automatically adds the new user to the Uddeim table when the user registers or first login.

I'd do it, but my laptop died and is in the repair shop with all my dev tools.

I don't understand.

The CB AutoWelcome plugin sends a pms message to brand new users.

@nant: Sure, but we are talking about email notifications and popups.

When I remember correctly, new users will not be notified about the autowelcome pm by email.
