New Passwords being sent to moderators as well

I switched our site to English and used the "forget password" option. The result is the same. Moderators receive an english notification with the password of the user. In the language file is no [password] field, but some strings:

Ihr neues Passwort ist: %s\n\n

Yes, this looks like CB email message sent to user requesting new password.

However in my tests (CB 1.7/J 1.7) is is not sent to moderators.
Have you made any changes on your end?

Strange thing. No, we didn't make any changes to the program code of CB.
