Wow :woohoo:

Just a few questions:

- Does it completely remove the phpBB profile with the one from CB?
- Does it also take the same avatar ( CB & phpBB )
- Is the register form from phpBB?
- Is the user-ranking also integrated in the CB profile?

Kind regards from Switzerland B) :)

hi there, all of your questions can i answer with "no it does not" This plugin is just a means to let users register and work together with CB, so no modifications are done to PHPBB.

If you wanted those features, you have to edit the phpbb files, or use a joomla/phpbb component that intergrates phpbb into joomla.

Thank you for the swift reply...

So, the users will get two profiles? A profile in PHPbb and a profile in CB?

Thank you very much for your work... :woohoo:

I just search the best way to use Joomla, CB & phpBB ans keep it userfriendly

Joomla is the best CMS I know, phpBB the best forum I know and CB the best "community factor" I know. I still search an integration of the phpBB with CB. Insteed of the phpBB profile the complete CB profile. Insteed of the phpBB-PMS the uddeIM and/or MyPMS Pro. I know, that's quite hard to do.

At the moment, I have a community on phpBB with about 3'000 users and about 100'000 postings. In a few month, I like to "switch" to Joomla. But I guess, the Joomlaboard is the wrong thing for such an big community. Is is completely integrated with CB - that's great. But I think, phpBB is the better way. What would you do?

(Sorry for my English :P )

Kind regards

I would use this bridge, then hack away at phpBB to suit yourself.
This isn't as hard as it may sound, phpBB is easy to mess with - take a look at my site at the moment, its all phpBB...everything is based on that back end, so you can see how easy it is to modify. I'm by no means a php coder or mySQL expert, just had a good play with it.

I'm now going to do the same with Joomla/phpBB/CBrc2 to try and come up with a fully integrated site that gives me more flexibility in the content management side!

www.teessideonline.net

Thats what I'd do anyway, in fact thats what I am going to do!

Incidentally, how do you install this bridge please...??? I have the test files and have phpBB installes to the /forum/ folder...what next?

www.Teessideonline.net - just completed a long term conversion plan to Joomla/CB - a big job!
