Community Builder can be freely downloaded by all registered members

We just released Community Builder 2.3 with 23 new features and 32 bug fixes.

Community Builder 2.3 is a feature rich release that is a recommended upgrade for all CB sites. As always, you should first test on a cloned environment before upgrading your production site.

Our demo website has already been updated to Community Builder 2.3, so you can see it in action along will all our Joomlapolis add-ons.

Of the 23 new features we would like to showcase the following:

• The Private Messaging plugin in CB now has an internal mode switch and no longer needs (but can still integrate with) uddeIM
• Updated to Bootstrap 4 (getting ready for Joomla 4)
• Age validation for date fields
• New Yes/No display for checkbox fields
• New Button mode for multicheckbox fields
• Many user interface and usability improvements

Joomla 3.9 is here - the Privacy Tool Suite release!

The Joomla project team has just released Joomla 3.9 that has over 250 improvements and the highly anticipated Privacy Tool Suite.

The latest nightly build of Community Builder 2.2.1 and all Joomlapolis add-ons work just fine with Joomla 3.9 also when the Joomla privacy tool suite is enabled. You can see everything in action on our demo site.

The CB Team is preparing to release Community Builder 2.3 that will have have the new private messaging functionality and Joomla 3.9 compatibility.

We are working on Comumnity Builder 2.4 including a new free core CB Joomla Privacy plugin that extends the Joomla 3.9 Privacy features.

Latest Community Builder build has Private Messaging!

Community Builder has always relied on uddeIM for private messaging and it's built-in CB PMS plugin still supports integration with it.

As mentioned in Kyle's blog, our PMS integration plugin now has an internal mode switch that will turn on the newly developed private messaging functionality now available in the latest Community Builder build and will be part of the soon to be released Community Builder 2.3.

We have already installed our latest CB build on our demo site where you can see this new functionality at work.

Here is a short list of available features:

• Internal mode switch to move from uddeIM integration to the new internal mode private messaging
• Migration of messages from uddeIM
• System messages can be sent by moderators to all users
• Messages can be deleted
• Envelope icon on profile page with number of unread messages for quick viewing
• Send a message to profile owner when visiting a user profile page
• Quick select from connections to send a new message
• Manage all messages (create, delete, edit, etc.) from Community Builder User Manager in administration area

There are many more built-in features and of course the CB PMS plugin with uddeIM or internal mode will continue to work with other integrations (Kunena, GroupJive, etc.).

And, as this is a new built-in Community Builder feature, it's available -- just like CB -- totally free!

The Joomla project team has just released version 3.8.13 that addresses 5 low priority vulnerabilities.

Community Builder 2.2.1 (latest build) and all Joomlapolis add-ons work just fine with Joomla 3.8.13. You can see everything in action on our demo site.

The Joomla 3.8.13 is a recommended upgrade for all Joomla 3.x series sites (and also Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 1.5). As always, before any Joomla upgrade on your live website, take a backup just in case anything goes wrong.
