CB Privacy is now available for download by all paid members

CB Privacy 5.0 is a complete rewrite that takes privacy levels and controls to the next level.

The most important features at a glance:

• Ability to turn over privacy controls to users, letting them decide who can see a specific field, an entire tab, or even the entire user profile
• Create user only views for fields or tabs
• Let users request and delete their user profile and their Joomla account
• Users can also disable their account and enable it in the future without moderator intervention
• New space friendly icon control buttons in addition to the traditional icon/text combination

Joomla 3.7.1 Security Release - All 3.x websites need to upgrade!

UPDATED: Joomla 3.7.1 has been released:

If you are running on Joomla 3.7.0, stop reading now and upgrade immediately all your Joomla 3.7.0 sites.

If you run Joomla 3.6.5 or below, you should still plan to update to Joomla 3.7.1, and keep your site up to date, but you have time to finish reading first.

The Joomla team has pre-announced that Joomla 3.7.1 is to be released on Wednesday, May 17th and it includes a very important security patch.

According to the Joomla Security Strike Team (JSST), this is a very important security fix and all Joomla installations are strongly encouraged to prepare for upgrade.

Latest Community Builder 2.1.2 and all our Add-ons, as well as all latest nightlies are compatible with Joomla 3.7.1 RC 2, and upgrade to 3.7.1 should stay compatible.

We will update this article after Joomla 3.7.1 is released with more details once they become available.

CB Core Fields Ajax 4.0 is available for download by all paid members

CB Core Fields Ajax 4.0 is a total rewrite that provides cleaner frontend inline fields editing for all core CB fieldtypes.

Just install, publish and configure any of your CB core fieldtype fields to allow them to be support inline editing on your user profile pages and your userlists.

This new release gives you:

• more reliable and smooth inline editing
• new output modes and 2 built-in templates
• different edit templates configurable on a per fields basis
• ability to dynamically chain other fields to get updated when another field is inline edited

The Joomla project recently released Joomla 3.7, a feature rich release with over 700 improvements and 8 low-level security issues fixed.

The following new features have peeked our interest and are truly worth exploring:

• Custom fields for articles, users and contacts
• Great improvements for multilingual sites
• Workflow simplifications for article creation
• Customizable backend administrative menus
• TinyMCE editor improvements (new buttons for menu links and contacts)

Joomla 3.7 has its own landing page that will help you understand all the great new features and improvements.

The CB Team has been testing Joomla 3.7 with Community Builder and everything is working just fine.

We have updated our demo site which is now working on Joomla 3.7 and has all of our latest add-on releases.

As always you should make a full backup of your website before upgrading and if possible test everything on a cloned site first.

The known issues list for Joomla 3.7 has already identified a number of issues.

Based on this and the fact that the security issues fixed with Joomla 3.7 are all low level, our recommendation is to wait for Joomla 3.7.1 if any of these known issues causes you or your third party extensions problems.
