Users and Lists. I just don't get it...

Can someone please explain ...

I have installed CB 1.7 on Joomla 1.5.23

The website is a platform for a national organization.
Within this organization, there are several local groups (LISTS).
Users of the site have to be assigned to one of these Lists.
Members of one LIST should only see the members of this list.

I thought CB would do the trick. I set up my local groups, but whatever I try, I cannot seem to assign a user to a local group (LIST??)
Each user is showing up in all LISTS I've created...?

Is CB the right tool for my problem?
If yes, what am I doing wrong or am I missing plugins?

I assume you have created some CB field that contains the lists you want to assign users in?

I have created such a field.

However, the field shows up in the front end of the site, which is not good. It should be set by an admin only... Can this be done?

Now I created a drop down field but I had to enter the names of the regions again, I'd be able to connect them to the existing Lists in CB?

You can place the field in a tab that is published for admins.
It will show up in backend and you can edit it there.

WONDERFUL!!!

I managed to create an Administrator tab, put the field there and created a list that filters on this field!

All I wanted!!
