Uddeim 1.5 sending problem

Hello,

I had Uddeim 1.4 and updated to 1.5 hotfix 2 with tables changes

1.4 was working great but since i updated, i have a couple of problems :

- when users reply to a message, it shows a blank page

- when users send a message, there is no message anymore saying "message has been sent"


any idea to fix that ?

You have to recreate the menu link to uddeIM. When you reinstall uddeIM Joomla gives uddeIM a new Itemid.

for that, no doubt

i've installed uddeim on a fresh joomla (upgrade from joomla 1.0.15 to joomla 1.5.9) and migrated uddeim1.4 tables.

any idea ?

i understand what you mean for a new menu link but
i also use the link that is available in cb_login module which shows a link to uddeim. and the problems come from there

The cb_login module tries to find the correct Itemid doing a lookup in jos_menu table (this table stores all menu links to components etc.).

When you deinstall and reinstall a component it will get a new Itemid leaving the entry in jos_menu untouched.

So when a module or component tries to get a valid Itemid, it may get an orphaned Itemid from jos_menu, unless you recreate the menu link to the component, so a new jos_menu entry with the updated Itemid is created.

Unfortunately Joomla does not remove jos_menu entries from the table when you delete the link in the backend; the links are only marked as deleted. So a module or component which does not evaluate this correctly may still get the wrong Itemid because it reads he "deleted" entry. To avoid this, clear the trash (Trash Manager) in the backend. Do not forget to switch from "Content Items" to "Menu Items".
