Future email PMS in Uddeim

Hi,

Thank you for latest 1.5 Uddeim loaded with new feature of auto-responders and forward.

I think it will be a good idea to have an option of sending PMS at pre-defined time. This way Webmaster can pre-configured PMS to send birthday or anniversary wishes to their valued members on future dates. Even members can pre-configured the message to be sent to their teacher in future time. Of course these are just few eg.

I have aleady added feature request at Uddeim Project.

The idea is quite good but cannot be implemented because only a few people have access to cron jobs.

For maintanace like purging of messages or sending of forgetmenot I use the event "Admin enters hin inbox" or "User enters hin inbox" because this is not time critical.

For birthday reminders or urgent messages this is not accurate enough.

I guess most of us have access to cron job. Nowdays it is almost common to have cron provided by Server host.

You might like to chack acajoom newsletter, where many users are taking advantage of sending future emails because of this cron facility.

I am sure this feature will be useful to every webmaster.

If possible please try to implement it as an optional feature for those who have cron job access.

From the statistics I have, most used shared web hosting, so cron jobs are usually not available.

Another issue is that uddeIM is not a newsletter component though it could be used for it (and is also sometimes used for this purpose).

I will check the options how to implement such a feature. Currently the database fields do not allow to delay messages (messages are always send directly after saving).

Nevertheless an additional field (which delays messages will definitely slow down uddeIM since it has to be added to quite all SQL queries).

I just gave an example of cron job. Most of us are using Uddeim for PM only.

Cron job is available easily on shared hosting. Almost all host provide cron job even for shared hosting package.

Yeah thats true! it will increase number of sql queries.

I know you love new ideas and always ready to implement them.
