Language file location was created by chrisyork
I have been looking at the manual page which describes changing the message that is sent as email notification.

This looks very useful, but I can't find the file!

In the manual it says:

Open the language file (ISO and/or UTF-8) and search for following strings...

I'm a bit stupid because I don't know where to look. Have browsed through com_uddeim and mod_uddeim folders and language, but can't find anything that might be the definition file (I found another message about Spanish translations quoting a file called languagespanish.php, but I can't find that file on my system either!)

Also, being so stupid, I'm not sure if I will be able to adjust these parameters when I do find them - an example would be really helpful to show what to write and what it then looks like. Sorry I know that this is asking a lot, but I'm trying my best!

The reason I need to change this is because some members of my website are replying to the email notification rather than logging in and using Uddeim! So I want to be VERY SPECIFIC in the notification email. Perhaps it would be useful for the 'default' message to include a hyperlink to the [livesite] in future releases?

Hoping you can help
Thanks

As you know Joomla components are installed in two different folders:
/administrator/components/com_component/
and
/components/com_component/
for the backend and frontend.

uddeIM language files are stored in the backend folder.

You can add a link to the live site. Please refer to the FAQ what the correct placeholder is.

Doh! Of course. I thought I had looked there, but apparently not! I found the files. Thanks

However, I have a problem with this ... I have edited the file to the following parameter:

DEFINE ('_UDDEIM_EMN_BODY_WITHMESSAGE',
"Hi %you%,\n\n%user% has sent you the following private message at %site%. Please visit %livesite% to reply!\nNOTE: This is an automated messaging service - please do not respond to this email - it will not be forwarded to anyone useful! \n__________________\n%pmessage%");

But that creates the following message:

... has sent you the following private message at SCotLaNd. Please visit %livesite% to reply!
NOTE: This is an automated messaging service - please do not respond to this email - it will not be forwarded to anyone useful!
...

It appears that %livesite% is not recognised? Any ideas what I've done wrong?

I'm using CB 1.1 and J1.5.8

Your help is much appreciated.

The FAQ is too new ;)
%livesite% will be recognized by the upcoming uddeM 1.5.
