3rd Party - Insert text into new message

I understand and appreciate why there is no subject line. I am modifying a 3PD app to have a link to create a new PM to a user and would like to insert some text into the message to save my users from having to type out what the message is about. I have read the documentation, so will presume this cant be done, but figured I'd ask anyway.

If this is not possible now, Perhaps this can be considered a Feature Request.

For example

http://mysite/index.php?option=com_uddeim&task=new&runame=cooldude&nouserlist=3&message=Re:Car_for_Sale

I'm not sure how to craft URL's with text in it and what to do with spaces etc, but the idea is that this text is inserted into the message which the users can edit/add to and then send.

Is there a parameter that I couldnt find in the documentation that will allow this?

Currently it is not possible to pass a text to uddeIM. You have to do it the same way all other tools do: write your message directly into uddeIM's tables.

You will find examples at the end of the FAQ.

In one of the next uddeIM versions I will provide an API which makes things much more easier.

I thought of that, and you are right that the info is in the document (very well written doc I must say). If I didn't need the user to edit it, I would just create a new IM directly to the db, but being able to customize the message is important.

I even considered writing the PM to the db, and then allowing the user to edit it, but that wont work either (will it?).

No, there is no edit mode available.

You can open a feature request on the tracker so I do not forget this issue.
