How does uddeim manages language? was created by 3168
I’m having some trouble with language in the messages section of UDDEIM.
I have joomla and community builder set in Spanish.
Everything shows in Spanish except for the Settings link. (The link itself and the content)

E-Mail-Notification
You can receive an e-mail when you get new private messages.

E-mail-notification on new messages

No e-mail-notification

Can you briefly describe hoy UDDEIM manages language (I can’t find any uddeim language file)

Thx a lot

Francisco

The language file for spanish is quite old so it contains several non translated texts.

You find the language file in language\spanish.php.

When you do a new translation please send the file to ssl(at)gmx(dot)de. Thanks.

Thx, if I get to do some translating work I’ll send it back.

Yet I’m still not being able to configure language correctly at uddeim.

I’m experiencing problems with spanish characters on popup messages and system generated text (variables). The utf code shows instead of the character.

Database:
When writing a word like “canción” through PMS,
it is stored like this: “canción”, in the database.
Though, variables like '_UE_CONNECTIONPENDSUB' are stored in UTF.

In the front end I see the user generated text (messages) correctly, but the system generated messages on email and popup messages are displayed the wrong way (UTF codes instead of right chatacter)…

On UDDEIM component setup / System I have the following:
Used Charset = UTF-8
Used mail charset = UTF-8
Language file character set = UTF-8

I’ve tried some combinations with ISO-8859-1 but nothing changes…

Hope you can help!

Thx
Francisco

_UE_CONNECTIONPENDSUB is not a uddeIM variable, it comes from Community Builder.

Do you use Joomla 1.0 or 1.5? When you use 1.0 you should not use UTF-8 since Joomla 1.0 does not support UTF-8 out of the box.

Though the settings are correct for Joomla 1.5.

I’m using joomla 1.5
I agree that settings are correct for 1.5, but I don’t get why the popup messages still show the utf codes instead of the character.

As you said this is a community builder issue, but I can’t find any configuration on the CB language plug-in.

Sorry I mess you up with something not related to uddeim.
