uddeIM 1.3 will be running on Joomla 1.0, J1.5 legacy, and J1.5 native.

You can download an updated "experimental" release:
www.slabihoud.de/software/uddeIM_1.3experimental2_unzip1st.zip

It runs fine on my test systems but it may still contain several bugs, so be careful and do not use it on a commercial, productive site.

When you download this package, you agree to give feedback (your Joomla version, native or lagacy mode, Windows or Linux operating system, discovered bugs, problems, etc.).

The "experimental release 2" fixes a few minor bugs and some incompatibilities with a few Joomla 1.5 configurations.

Please report bugs as soon as possible since I plan to release uddeIM 1.3 very soon!

Changelog for the upcoming uddeIM 1.3:

1.) uddeIM 1.3 is running on Joomla 1.x, J1.5 legacy and J1.5 native.
2.) Text counter was not working when message length was set to zero. The bugfix ensures
that the text counter is not shown when the text length is set to zero, now.
3.) Added check if iconv() is available (usually it should).
4.) The Autocompleter can use MooTools 1.2, which supports multiple selections. You can
specify the version of MooTools which uddeIM should use in the admin backend:
"do not load MooTools":
MooTools is NOT loaded by uddeIM (so when your template loads MooTools,
uddeIM does not load it twice).
"auto":
Same behavior as in uddeIM 1.2. uddeIM loads MooTools 1.11 when running under
Joomla 1.0 and uses the internal MooTools library when running under Joomla 1.5.
"force loading MooTools 1.1":
Loads MooTools 1.11 library.
Note that there is no check if MooTools is already loaded!
"force loading MooTools 1.2":
Loads MooTools 1.2 library.
Note that there is no check if MooTools is already loaded!
Joomla 1.5 users cannot use "MooTools 1.2" setting since Joomla 1.5 always loads
MooTools 1.11. Joomla 1.5 users have to use "auto" or "do not load MooTools".
5.) uddeIM supports Agora Avatars and Profiles.
6.) J1.5 XML installer added.
7.) New uddeIM logo in backend.
8.) Default values are shown in usersettings list in backend.
9.) Annoying bug fixed which appeared when two or more menu entries with different access levels were used to call uddeIM.
10.) Pagination was broken in "uddeIM 1.3 experimental" on Joomla 1.0. This should be fixed.
11.) When your site was accessible in a sub folder the Autocompleter did not work because a absolute path was used in autocompleter.css.

Hi slabbi,

Thank you so much for releasing the 1.3 experimental release.

I have been testing it on a local installation. I updated the 1.2 (CB1.2 RC2 compat version). I am running J1.5.5 with PHP5 using MAMP.

I have discovered Zero bugs, and the 1.3 version installed and ran just as well as ever.

Any clues to when you may release a "stable" version? Although as far as I can see, 1.3 "experimental" is very stable for me :)

Thanks again!

edit I am working on a custom template for my own website, and so far it's looking very smooth. it looks quite modern, and uses the silk iconset from www.famfamfam.com . if you interested in more templates slabbi, let me know and I will post the files here, or email them to you. N.

Thanks for the feedback. Well, even when it works on your system, there are so many different systems in the wild that there still might be problems.
I plan also to add a few new features (although I do not know if for v1.3 or a later one).

I am very interested in your template and would be pleased to add it to uddeIM package (ssl(at)gmx(dot)de).

There are 14 downloads for the "experimental release" but only one feedback.

Guys, whats up? When you want a stable release very soon, you have to test this and - of course - you have to give feedback if it works on your system.

I need also testers who use this on Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 legacy!
