Sorry, but I do currently not know where the problem is. Maybe I could find a solution but I need a superadmin login and a phpmysql admin for that (don't use the account you have mailed here).
I am pretty sure its a setting problem only.

When you are fine with that, mail it to ssl(at)gmx(dot).de

I just noticed that when Im getting to template manager Im getting an error like this:

XML Parsing error at 1:30. Error 18:unknowning encoding

Does this has to do with my problem?

Maybe, haven't had this problem yet.

Nevertheless when
- your site template is UTF-8 (it is),
- the characters are stored in UTF-8 in your database (so the database connection is UTF-8 and the tables, too),
- you have "UTF-8" entered in "Used charset" in uddeIM backend (system tab), and
- UTF-8 is selected in "Language file character set"
then it should work.

Is someone reading this and runs uddeIM in greek language?

I found a quick fix. It works when you enable "message obfuscating". Is it ok for you when I try to analyze this problem with the account you mailed me?

In my opinion it is a configuration problem with the server:

character set client utf8
(Global value) latin1
character set connection utf8
(Global value) latin1

::: this one
character set database latin1
character set filesystem binary

character set results utf8
(Global value) latin1

::: maybe this one
character set server latin1
character set system utf8
collation connection utf8_unicode_ci
(Global value) latin1_swedish_ci

::: maybe this one
collation database latin1_swedish_ci
collation server latin1_swedish_ci

Edit:
Tried lots of fixes but nothing works except the message obfuscating which encodes the messages before they are stored in the database in plain ASCII.
Since I try to store the string that is delivered by the browser I don't think its a problem with uddeIM. Maybe someone has more experience in that topic (utf-8 and mysql).

I try to setup a test installation but currently I am lost.
