couldn find here in Forum a solution

uddeIM 1.2 will support Fireboard avatars.

You can grab uddeIM 1.2 from the trunk. It is not the final version but has reached the "release candidate" status.

Being a total CB newbie, I have not yet played with uddeIM, but I just looked at the website...looks awesome, nice. :)

I assume there are plans to make it under native J1.5 somewhere down the roadmap?

Can I repeat the last posters question: will there be a 1.5 native version sometime soon ?
Any thoughts appreciated, many thanks.

This has been answered several times now.

There will be a native version in future but not very soon because there is absolutely no need for that.

The "legacy" plugin is a wrapper that maps the "old" functions and variables to J1.5 functions/variables. This will _not_ slow your system (maybe a few additional usecs that does a legacy component need) but thats all.

Making uddeIM 1.5 native means to move some of these wrapper functions into uddeIM. So from the technical point of view a native uddeIM will be the same as a non-native uddeIM with legacy plugin (except that the native version will be a little bit larger since I have to support 1.0 and 1.5).

Thanks for your reply and apologies for not seeing this elsewhere as you indicate.
The need for a native version arises if using other 1.5 components that do not work with legacy mode implemented, such as iJoomla magazine.
Obviously this is not your responsibility but may impact on people planning sites around such components.
Thank you for taking the time to explain your points.

No problem. ;)

When a "native" component does not work with the legacy plugin enabled then one problem might be that when the author copied one of the legacy functions into the component without renaming the function it collides with the legacy function.

But then you will have the same problem, when two authors use the same method to make their components "native".
