Install error: "Unable to find install package"

I checked your FAQ pdf file and also this forum but cannot find a solution to the install error I am getting – see it below.

There was an error uploading this file to the server.
Unable to find install package

This error is different to the others I read about in your FAQ's and this forum.
I am using the latest version for Joomla 3.2.3.
The package I downloaded was: uddeIM_3.3_j30_unzip1st
I did unzip it first and attempted to install file: com_uddeim_j30.zip
Max file upload size for the server is 30meg

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

That is really strange. Is it possible to install other packages? Maybe the access rights of the tmp folder are not correct and Joomla has no access to the uploaded archive?

You can also try the Joomla Web Installer. The component is also available from there, nevertheless additional modules, plugins must be installed separately.

I activated Joomla the 'Install from web' feature and tried installing it from there and it worked ok. Sorry to bother you about it.
