I had a php error after I used the Joomla mechanism on one of my test sites to upgrade to Joomla 3.1.1.

I downloaded the upgrade package "Joomla_3.1.1-Stable-Update_Package.zip" and did the upgrade manually and everything was fine.

Maybe it works also for you.

Yes, Joomla HQ broke some functionality, see
joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/&action=TrackerItemBrowse&tracker_id=32/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=30599

It works fine on my test sites.

This describes the problem:
joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=29786

When you still have the problem you could do following:

1. Open admin.uddeim.php
2. Go to line 1393
3. Change "if (uddeIMcheckJversion()==5)" to "if (uddeIMcheckJversion()>=5)"

Joomla HQ is currently breaking some backward compatibility and I do not know what they decide how to fox this problem. Very annoying.

Same problem. I have attached a copy of the component screen under 3.0.4. As you can see, everything is there. Any other ideas?
