Hello,

I had upgraded from Jommla 1.7 to 2.5.7. I also upgraded CB from 1.7 to 1.8.1 and Kunena from 1.7 to 2.0.2. When I now proceeded to uninstall UDDEIM, in order to upgrade it, the system kept returning the message - "please first make a selection from the list", and the unistallation kept failing. Now, all of a sudden when I try to log into the back end as superuser, I get the RT error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JLanguage::getBackwardLang() in /hermes/waloraweb091/b2602/moo.yidam/IFREP/ifreplive/components/com_uddeim/uddeimlib15.php on line 174

I am not able to take any action on the site, and shall be grateful for the help extended.

Thank you very much in advance.

Quite simple to fix:
Download uddeIM 2.8 unpack the component zip file and upload the files manually, either using ftp or a file explorer component like extplorer. Do not overwrite the config file.

Before upgrading Joomla you should always check if all components are compatible with the new version.

Hello slabbi,

Thank you very much for pointing to the solution. Would like to doubly confirm from you that the files to be uploaded are in the folder com_uddeim_j16_english_only:

i. admin\*
ii. site\*
iii. script.php
iv. uddeim.xml

and the destination folder on the server is: components/com_uddeim.

I did not see any config file in the destination folder, so please inform where it is located.

thanks once again.

Hello slabbi,

Thank you for the guidance. We could solve the problem. We will bear in mind the point about upgrading the extensions first, prior to upgrading the Joomla core.

Thanks again.
