No messages but still get "you have 1 new message"

No messages but still get "you have 1 new message" was created by mediaguru
My uddle says I have a new message but there are no messages in my in box... How do I reset that?

You probably need to edit the database to delete the message.

Right. I figured that. BUT what do I edit? I've poked around in there but there's nothing reallly obvious. Is it in the uddle fields or something else?

FIgured it out for those who may run into the same problem. I had an uddle message from a user who was removed from the site. Once I deleted the data from the DB: jos_uddleim that corresponded to the message from the missing user the incorrect notification went away.
