No, not really.

As I said before: The code I posted has been tested with Joomla 1.5 and "should" work with later versions.

btw: How to you call the API in the cron job? The API uses the Joomla framework, e.g. database queries, so how does it work without Joomla Framework?

we were actually using the same code to initiate the framework before. Any ideas where we should look for errors from the api? Or is there a way to force an error for troubleshooting? Can you tell what type of errors we should see - maybe our log isn't logging them all for some reason.

Sorry, currently I have no idea how to fix this issue. When the framework is initialized the API does not throw any error.

Maybe these clues will help: when we execute the php script through the cron, the %msglink% variable does not bring the domain name, but the %site% variable does bring domain name.

When we execute the script through a browser, both variables work fine. Using the same API and joomla initialization functions.

Maybe I mentioned before, but we are on J1.5.25 and uddeim 2.6.

Do those additional facts help to trigger any troubleshooting ideas?

I am still checking but have no idea why it works differently when executed via cron.
