uddeIM 2.7 is already released, so there is no need to download the files from joomlacode.org, except you want to use the latest development version.

I have the latest version 2.8 and I still have the n's. What plugin do I need to enable in order for this to stop?

I'm using:
Kunena 3.0
CB 1.9
Joomla 2.5.11

It is really quite hard to search the FAQ for "\n", isn't it?

Ch. 7.9.4 Connection notifications contain “\n” instead of newlines?

It has also been mentioned in the Changelog (uddeIM 2.7) and on my Google+ page.
