System Sending Fake PMs

As far as i can tell, these messages are not in the jos_uddeim table.

i think they are coming from the messaging module, jos_messages contains what appear to be tons of notification that i've submitted at new article. Why is it sending notices of new articles?

But why are these only seen when notification of PMs is turned ON?

Wait... one of these users has "System notifications" set to yes. i bet that's it. So, i create an article and some users are getting a notification they should not. Hrm.

Could that module be using UddeIM to send stuff?

Don't know. Usually Joomla components do not use uddeIM's PM API.

Thanks for your help in getting this far. You helped me eliminate some variables. If the path comes back to UddeIM i'll ping you again. For now it looks like my fellow admins are checking a box they should not.

Users get notification about new PMS and link to http://domain/administrator/index.php?option=com_messages&view=message&message_id=1357

I think it happened when I add new article from frontend (like superuser). because those link is to admin component /administrator/index.php?option=com_messages


where and what do I have to change?

That is not an uddeIM functionality, so you cannot change there anything.

uddeIM does only send messages for uddeIM PMSs, not for Joomla messages.
