New messages: Parse error: syntax error, IE 9 was created by onlinesince79
Hi there, I am running the latest uddeIM (2.3 hotfix 1) on Joomla 1.5. The problem being encountered is in Internet explorer, periodically in mod_uddeim the following is displayed:

New messages:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/xxxx/public_html/components/com_uddeim/uddeim.php on line 499.

This only seems to be happening in IE 9.

I have looked at the php line and cant see what could be causing the issue.

Many thanks

Checked the code and everything is fine.

Maybe your server does not load the script completely (maybe not enough memory or not enough CPU time).

Not uddeIM related.

Hi Slabbi

Im running on a dedicated server with only 2 users as the site is still being developed, as i mentioned this problem is only showing in IE9 for some reason.

Is there anything i can change or test ?

Hi again the issue seems related to the ajax notification in mod_uddeim, i changed the refresh from 5 seconds to 20, and set a timer to 20 seconds. Every 20 seconds the aforementioned message would come up.

HOWEVER  logging in as another user on the same browser, the message would not appear, and after that logging back in as the original problem user, again the message would not appear.

All very strange... !

Many thanks

Please try to clear the browser cache for the user. Maybe the Javascript code has not been loaded completely.
