It is always recommended to wait until a new program has been used on productive systems for a while. Joomla 1.6 is quite new and there are still several annoying bugs, that is why I still use Joomla 1.5 (and Joomla 1.0) on my sites.

As you can see from the Google search above, there are several people who have problems that J1.6 destroys its own tables. A work around is to remove ALL entries of a certain component in jos_menu and jos_extensions and keep finger crossed when you reinstall it.

If you have upgraded from Joomla 1.6rc or earlier, forget this installation and start again with Joomla 1.6. There is no fix for that.

The same issue with fresh Joomla! v. 1.6.1 and UddeIm v. 2.3 in Chrome browser...
Tables removing and com_uddeim_j16 reinstall doesn't help.
It's not possible to remove element 'com_uddeim' from jos_extensions due to it was not created during first install.

Solution:
After reinstall in FF browser - menu was created and now everything works even in Chrome :cheer:

Maybe you can explain how a browser can effect an operation that is done on the server.

I guess that the server is not very reliable and the first installation went wrong, e.g. database server died during installation or the web server was overloaded, or something like that.

No, I can't explain.
Suppose your guess is correct and it was particular case. But it is not first time when change of operation browser helps. Maybe chrome is not so stable as it should be :) Nevertheless it is solved now.
I'm glad that can say personal Big Thank you for your excellent extension.

So I've been cracking away at uddeim for Joomla 1.7

the com_uddeim doesn't install no matter what I do.
the com_uddeim_j16 does install however the admin menus fail to build.
Here's what I have tried.
  • Clear all the data and reinstall on chrome
  • Clear all the data and reinstall on firefox
  • Uninstall and reinstall

at this point I am at a loss.
Would anyone have any ideas. All the help topics have failed me so far.
