uddeIM 2.3 (stable) + Hotfix 1 released

uddeIM 2.3 + Hotfix 1 has been released.

Some language files have not been updated up to now. These will be released in a hotfix in a few days.

You can download the installation packages from my dev page. Please give feedback if all packages are ok or if you had some problems installing uddeIM 2.3.

Please check the README since it contains important information about how to upgrade to uddeIM 2.3 (stable) + Hotfix 1.


Hotfix 1 is a patch file, i.e. the archive contains the changed files only. You have to overwrite the existing files on your server. Premium Plugins for uddeIM 2.3 Hotfix 1 must be downloaded separately.

Hotfix 1 fixes some issues with Joomla 1.6. Joomla 1.5 and 1.0 users must not update when they do not have any problems. No security related issues have been fixed.

1.) Autocompleter works with Firefox 4.0rc.
2.) J1.6: Edit userlist was broken on Joomla 1.6.
3.) Fixed a function redeclaration error when mod_uddeim was loaded before com_uddeim.

5.) J1.6: plug_uddeim_contentlink works.

3.) J1.6: Some hardcoded "jos_" prefix in SQL statements (J1.6 related bug only) fixed

5.) J1.6: uddeIM recognizes more ISO language codes
6.) J1.6: CSS files fixed: default, default_ex, default_ex_pink, monoblue, monogram,
monopink, monorange, noir, modernblue, tcplc
7.) J1.6: Some minor Joomla 1.6 issues fixed.
8.) BBcodes [ ol ][ /ol ], [ ul ][ /ul ], [ li ][ /li ] added (though they are no buttons for
these codes).
9.) uddeIM menu favicon will be added when fix database (Maintenance) is used
(older uddeIM versions do not have this icon, so uddeIM 2.3 fixes this).
10.) Path to Kunena 1.6 default avatar fixed.
11.) Importer added for Messaging 1.x
12.) Importer added for CD Pure Messenger 1.x
13.) "Add CC: line" can be disabled in backend (was displayed automatically when
multiple recipients were enabled).
14.) Premium plugin: Message Control Center. This plugin allows admins to moderate
selected accounts.
15.) J1.6: uddeIM Notifier fixed.
16.) J1.6: It is possible to select the destination box (inbox, outbox, etc) in the
Joomla 1.6 menu options when creating a new menu link.
17.) Frontend menu can be switched off (in case you wish to create own links to uddeIM).
18.) "Timedelay" between posts is evaluated for registered users only.
19.) Separate Joomla 1.0/1.5 and Joomla 1.6 installer archives.
20.) Autocompleter has hidden blocked groups for non-admins and not for
registered users.
21.) Autocompleter has shown 'hidden' users for non-admins.
22.) A few minor bugfixes

Thanks for this great job on uddeim ! It is a very useful and complete component...
I upgraded from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6, and installed the new release of uddeim.
It works perfectly, but just one thing is going wrong : in the backend, the uddeim link does not appear. I read the FAQ but didn't find a solution to this problem.
I tried to reinstall the component, without success : this changes nothing.
What is strange is that in the database, there is the comuddeimmenu item in the table jos_menu, with the type "main"...
I can access to the backend of uddeim only if I type the adress home/administrator/index.php?option=com_uddeim in the browser.
Do you have any idea of what is happening ?

This is a known problem that appears on some Joomla 1.6 sites for several components.

1. Ensure that you are not using an upgraded Joomla 1.6 (from 1.6rc or earlier).
Upgrading from 1.6 stable to a later one is ok.
2. Ensure that you are installing com_uddeim_j16.
3. When menu links are not created (Joomla has already created wrong entries), then
a) Deinstall uddeIM.
b) Remove all uddeIM releated entries from jos_menu and jos_extensions.
c) Reinstall com_uddeim_j16.

It seems to be a bug in Joomla 1.6 that it destroys its own tables. Hope the devs find the problem soon.

It solved the problem when I deinstalled uddeim, cleaned the tables and reinstalled it...
It works perfectly now !

Just upgraded to the stable 2.3 on J1.6
I lost the obfuscation key, luckily this is a test system, so I could just go into phpmyadmin and kill the messages.

I still can't get the search function to work properly. I've sent two mails from medie1 to test1 user, and in both the word 'hej' is part of it. One as the first word, the other inside the message.
When I get the search result, it gives 'private messages' as one item to search in, but it still doesn't find it.
It doesn't find it in the sender or receiver profile.

Next thing is, all the danish characters looks off, sort of a ISO-8859-1 / UTF-8 mismatch or something like that.
