It took a lot of re-installing but I finally have my site up and running with Joomla 1.6, CB 1.4 and UddeIM 2.3. I saved in the UddeIM config file for email notification for messages with with email sender name set to Ce-Bar Messaging. I tested the frontend email and the message came to me with the sender name of laineyme@host109.hostmonster.com which is my host. I'd rather not have that as the sender but don't see where this is coming from.

Thanks, Lainey

The email address of the PM writer is never used in notification emails.
You will find the email of a public user (when entered) when you check the inbox.

Yes, I know. I didn't want it to come from the PM writer, I want it to be sent by the alias I had set up in the UddeIM config file: "Ce-Bar Messaging". It is pulling instead my host information.

Please try a sender name without spaces.
Maybe your MTA dislikes the space.

You can also switch to phpMail, in that case uddeIM creates the email headers.

It's fixed. Sorry, human error. I didn't put an actual email address in the second box, just another alias. The spaces were fine.

Thanks,

Lainey
