autocompletion display not working

Hi all,

I have installed 2.2/stable on my Joomla site, currently running Joomla v1.5.22 and Kunena v1.6.3.

My first impression is very positive.

One minor hiccup: I have switched on autocompletion, but it doesn't work correctly. If I start typing name in, it pops up a display of matches after a second or two, but it is only displayed for half a second or so. No opportunity to select a name. I am seeing this under both Chrome and FF under Linux.

Any ideas what might be going wrong here?

Do you have installed other modules or plugins which also perform AJAX requests?

Not that I am aware of. uddeIM is the first Kunena extension I am using, although I have installed other Joomla extensions.

I did install the uddeIM popup extension, but AJAX is not enabled.

uddeIM is NOT a Kunena extension

Well, each user has to enable popups in his user settings. Have you checked the FAQ?

Yes, I read the section on pop-ups in the FAQ, but now I am a little confused as I thought that pertained to the PM notification module mod_uddeim.

I installed mod_uddeim and haven't got it working yet. But that is for another thread, I think.

If I can get the autocompletion working here, great, but if not, it is not critical. Do you need any additional info from me?

The module contains the code to display a popup. Nevertheless the user has to enable popups in his profile.

I am pretty sure that there is some other plugin/module that triggers an event and so the browser closes the autocompleter. Maybe it is also the template itself. Joomla 1.6 brings some new templates and I have not checked all of them up to now.
