Reinstalling uddeIM was created by chofer
Hello. I'll try to make a long story short. About a month or so ago, our church website was hacked into, and the result was that we had to install a fresh version of Joomla and bring in our old Joomla database so that we wouldn't lose any of the information from our pages on the site. After we got the new installation of Joomla set up and the database connected to the site, in the admin pages, the uddeIM component was still listed, so I uninstalled it so that I could install a fresh version of uddeIM.

When I install the component now, I get the following:

SQL error when attempting to save a messageDB function failed with error number 1054
Unknown column 'systemflag' in 'field list' SQL=INSERT INTO jos_uddeim (fromid, toid, toread, message, datum, systemflag, disablereply, systemmessage, totrashoutbox, totrashdateoutbox) VALUES (64, 64, 0, 'Welcome to uddeIM! You have succesfully installed uddeIM. Try viewing this message with different templates. You can set them in the administration backend of uddeIM. uddeIM is a project in development. If you find bugs or weaknesses, please write them to me so that we can make uddeIM better together. Good luck and have fun!', 1289134732, 1, 1, 'uddeIM', 1, 1289134732)
SQL =

INSERT INTO jos_uddeim (fromid, toid, toread, message, datum, systemflag, disablereply, systemmessage, totrashoutbox, totrashdateoutbox) VALUES (64, 64, 0, 'Welcome to uddeIM!

The above appears in a page strictly of text and not any of the Joomla interface with icons, graphics, etc.

When I uninstall the component, I get the following message:

* JInstaller::install: ERRORXMLSETUP
* If this Extension has created tables or installed additional files, they must be removed manually.

I am wondering...when I uninstall the component, it looks as though the associate component folders in /components and /administrator/components are also removed. However, I am not sure that the tables in the Joomla database are getting removed.

So, I am looking for some help. What would be the easiest and cleanest way to get uddeIM to install properly without giving me any error messages?

Thank you, in advance, for you help.

Chris

You have used an earlier version before. So when you want to install a current one please read the README how to upgrade to database tables. From the error message you can see that you have used an uddeIM version that does not require the field "systemflag".

The complete upgrade process is described in the README and you will also find some useful information in the FAQ in order you plan to purge all old messages and start from the scratch.

Can I ask a dumb question... If I didn't want to go through the whole upgrade procedure, couldn't I just uninstall uddeIM (component, any modules, and plugins) from the Joomla admin pages and then also delete the following tables from the Joomla database:

jos_uddeim
jos_uddeim_attachments
jos_uddeim_blocks
jos_uddeim_config
jos_uddeim_emn
jos_uddeim_spam
jos_uddeim_userlists

Wouldn't that resolve things as well? Again, I guess I would just like a fresh copy of uddeIM installed where I can just go through the settings again and configure them how I want...so that in the end, it integrates nicely with Community Builder.

Or...is this not the recommended way to go?

Hi slabbi...

Thank you for the reference number of the FAQ. I uninstalled the component and dropped the tables, and uddeIM installed perfectly!!!

My next question...when I uninstalled uddeIM, I also uninstalled the modules so I could do a clean install of those as well. Now that I have the main component installed, I tried installing some of the modules...such as "mod_uddeim" and "mod_uddeim_mailbox". When I try and install these in the admin pages of Joomla, I get the following message:

Module Install: Another module is already using directory: "/../../public_html/alc/modules/mod_uddeim"

I'm not sure what to look at to correct this as well. I'm thinking it's somehow related to Community Builder, but I am not sure. Thanks again.
