joomla modules not showing in Uddeim

Hi,
I'm using uddeIm 2.1 and I'm having a problem getting joomla modules to display on the private message pages. My joomla modules (Menu's, slideshows, etc)only display if the modules are assigned to all menus so I'm not able to have certain modules specific to uddeim. Can anyone explain to me why?

Indeed, it is wrong Jommla usage, not uddeIM related.

Solved...I combined the two affected menus into one menu.

I really hate to bump an old thread but I have the same problem of modules not showing unless I select all. Can anyone explain exactly how they overcame this issue for us newbies? when I go to my CB profile and select the message - to inbox the modules to the left are gone

UPDATE: Ok I found the solution myself. You must create a link in your menu system to UddeIM before the profile inbox can assign an item ID. It doesn't matter if the menu link is activated or not just so long as there is one. I didn't want a link in user menu so I was attempting to do it from the profile only. Adding the menu link solved the issue.

Sorry for bumping the thread but I been forever trying to figure this out. Hopefully this will help other newbies who encounter the same issue.
