Tweaking possibilities was created by RKF
I'm using uddeIM 2.0/2010-03-01/stable together with the Public Frontend Plugin. For how I am using the software I'd like to make 2 changes which either remove, or simply hides the following functionality:

* Compose menu item
* 'To' address field,

and one more change which inserts the 'From' email address as a field in the email notification which is sent to a recipient of a PM.

I'm using the s/w as a way of non registered users contacting advertisers in a directory as part of SOBI2. As such, no-one needs to compose afresh:

* They'll either be completing a form associated with a particular entry, or
* replying to a message

Is this achievable and can anyone give me any pointers on what files I need to edit?

Thanks

Well, there are some parameters you can add to the URL and pass to the component (disabling userlists, To-Field, setting recipient address -> see FAQ). This should do the job.

I'm really not sure what part of the FAQ you're referring to. I've had a good look through it and searched on the terms you mention, but to no avail. Could you be more specific please?

Through removing code in frontend.php and includes.php I've removed reference to Compose, and through CSS display:none I've removed the 'To' input field.

Things remaining are:

1. How to include the frontend posters email address (from_email) in the notification email, and
2. How to remove the word 'To'.....I've searched all files for this word, but haven't managed to locate it....

Thanks

Ah....no, we're not on the same wavelength here. The problems isn't about a third party component, it's about sending additional info as part of the uddeIM notification email.

When a user completes the Public Frontend Plugin they complete three fields:

1. Your Name ("from_name" gtbfieldid=".....)
2. Your Email ("from_email" gtbfieldid=".....), and
3. Message

Under uddeIM Administration: Email I've selected "E-mail contains message" which sends fields 1 and 3 above. I'd like to include field 2 aswell to save the registered user from having to login to see the senders email address. As only non-registered users will use the Public Frontend Plugin, it's preferable to send the email address in the same notification email as the 'name' and 'message'.

Any ideas?

Ok, I understand.

This is currently not possible since the function that does the replacements has no information about the sender's email address.

You can add this to the tracker but it will not be part of uddeIM 2.1.
