HI

It is with shock that I see how many updates I missed for UddeIm. (I'm working on 0.7)

I'm using UddeIm plain and only as a messaging system for CB.

Going through all the ReadMe's I realised that I have to upgrade from 0.7 to 1.4 from 1.4 to 1.7 and from 1.7 to 1.9

Now wouldn't it simply be easier to de-install the old version and install the new one?

If the Personal Messages that had been sent until then get lost, so be it? Or is there something else that could go wrong?

Greetings Sianna

You can deinstall and reinstall the system without loosing any data. Nevertheless you have to update database tables manually. Since I do not want to maintain update instructions for all versions I do only support the last few versions. This is why you have to upgrade from 0.7 to 1.4, then from 1.4 to 1.7 and from 1.7 to 1.9.

The esiest way is to deinstall uddeIM, delete ALL uddeim tables and reinstall uddeIM, so all tables will be fine. Of course all data will be lost in that case.

Thank you, I think I'll stick to easy and inform the users to "salvage" all the personal messages they want to keep!

First you should try to upgrade.

1. Upgrade the database from 0.7 to 1.4, 1.4 to 1.7 and 1.7 to 1.9.
2. Overwrite all existing files with the new ones.
3. Review all settings since these settings will be lost because of your very old version).
