CB Auto Actions - add users to two different Joomla ACL groups

7 years 8 months ago - 7 years 8 months ago #292389 by sagebr1874
Hi, I am using CB Auto Actions to add users to two different Joomla ACL groups, Alumni or Seniors, I have set this up so that this action happens on register. But its not working. The users still stay in the registered group, I have been at this for 2 days and I am at a loss. I am using radio buttons on the registration form. There is no error output to add even with error reporting to max. I am using Joomla 3.6. Could someone give me a place to start looking?

I used this tutorial: www.joomlapolis.com/documentation/18219-cb-auto-actions-changing-approval-workflow-based-on-cb-field-value

That tutorial changes the approval state of users. Has nothing to do with assigning ACL. Your usage is a relatively simple case though and should be easily done with the following.

Global
Triggers: onAfterUserRegistration
Type: Usergroup
User: Automatic
Access: Everybody
Conditions
1: [FIELD_NAME] Equal To VALUE_TO_MATCH_HERE
Action
Mode: Replace Usergroups (since you want to get rid of Registered)
Groups: SELECT_USERGROUP_HERE

You'll need 2 actions since you want to assign 2 different usergroups based off 2 different conditions. I don't know your field names and values, but below is an example based off guessing.

Global
Triggers: onAfterUserRegistration
Type: Usergroup
User: Automatic
Access: Everybody
Conditions
1: [cb_profiletype] Equal To Alumni
Action
Mode: Replace Usergroups
Groups: Alumni
