I setup fields to "private" in my profile, but other users can see the values of my private fields.
I notice that only the users in the "Author" user group can see my private fields. For all the other users non in "Author" user group, privacy settings are respected.
Is a bug?

Sounds like you've Moderator View Access Level set to Special within CB > Configuration > Moderation. Special view access level includes Authors. Create a new view access level that only includes the usergroups you want to have moderator permissions then select it within CB > Configuration > Moderation. Those with moderator permission can view private fields.
