I have GJ group messages configured to send HTML email. Email transmission is successfully received by the group users, it's functional. The following things warrant a mention:
- The subject line is unnecessarily long. It's using the Global configuration > Site Name, concatenated with "- group message -" concatenated with the subject line that I entered in the message editor.
- Whilst I could abbreviate the site name, that's not necessarily desirable in all contexts, for example at the login screen. An optional GJ email subject prefix configuration would be really helpful here.
- The - group message - subject item seems redundant, not least because the first line of the message says again that it's a group message.
- The logo is not displayed in the received email message. I added the logo image to the message text using the JCE button for this purpose. The image was relatively small and already on the server. It displayed correctly in the message text, in the editor.
- The from: email line appears not to be using the Global Configuration > From email and also includes the configured site name and a spurious reference to "sign up". This seems a bit odd.
- It seems that only the GJ group owner can send group messages. It would be very helpful to have a GJ config option to allow anyone in a particular Joomla user group to send GJ group messages, whether or not they're the GJ group owner. For example, we're a club with a GJ "members" group and I have a Joomla user group "committee" any of whom I'd like to be able to send a message.
Sorry, that's a bit more of a list than I'd expected!
