Adding Comments to Joomla articles.

I know that comments can be added to the social section of CB using CB Activity. But I'm also looking to add nested comments in Joomla articles and still have the reporting in activity tabs. Plus, I want to be able to turn comments on and off, depending on the article. 
I've studied the docs, and I'm still as unclear as I started.
I've looked at third-party apps, which are all bloated with unneeded accessories.
Does CB have that option??

CB Activity can show comments on articles, yes. That's built into the CB Activity Bot. Within System > Plugins edit "Content - CB Activity" then under the Comments tab set "Stream" to "Articles" if not already set. That's it. You're good to go. If you need to exclude specific articles, categories of articles, or even adjust contexts then you can do so under the "Comments and Likes" tab. In a future release we'll have a new parameter added to your Articles to more easily exclude them, but for now it's done from the plugin parameters.

As for also having the comments on profile that's also easily done using commenting activity. To enable this navigate to CB Activity > Configuration > Parameters > Activity > Article and you'll see a "Comment" parameter in that section. Simply set that to "Enabled". Now when someone comments on an article it will create an activity entry to that article with the comment already attached to the activity entry.
