It looks like the GJ event creator is automatically an attendee in the latest implementation. There doesn't seem to be an option for the creator to remove themselves from the attendee list through the front-end, although it is possible for them to be removed by the admin in the back-end. This is undesirable behaviour for us. It's certainly not the case that the person listing events will necessarily attend all or even any of them!

Is this an unintended change, or did I just miss this earlier? Is there a fix / workaround please?

That is working as intended. There is no functionality to remove that behavior at this time. Will review adjusting events so they don't auto attend the owner. If is a simple enough fix will try to have a new release out today or tomorrow as I agree it doesn't really make sense to force the event owner into the event anymore.

Just as a note the owner can unattend their event from the dropdown options for that event after it was created. What I'll simply be removing is forcing attendance on event creation.

Ok, this is now implemented in latest GJ Events integration. The event owner won't be forced into attending the event and will now need to manually mark themselves as attending if they feel the need to.

This is great! Thanks!

One small point is that it no longer reports the number of attendees when there are none signed up. That doesn't matter where the number of attendees isn't limited, but it does also mean that the attendee limit is also not visible where there is one set, ie. it used to say, for example, "0 of 6 Guest" but that now doesn't display.

It won't display the guests count if there's no guests attending now. Once there's at least one guest (even if it's the owner) it will display.
