Starting membership period from approval and not registration

2 days 11 hours ago #339807 by wintercorn
Client has a process where members register, pay and then await approval. This can sometimes take several days or even weeks. This obviously eats in to the membership term.

Can the membership term start from approval instead?

I would recommend configuring your plans to require payment after approval in that case. This can be done by setting "User Approval by Moderator" to "Yes, after payment" under the Workflows tab of your plans. This way they register, get approved, and then pay on login.

Surely you mean 'Yes, before payment' which I assume means Register > Approval > Payment

Yes, sorry. You'll want to select "Yes, before payment" so that approval happens before payment collection.

This seems to work but it doesn't send a welcome email to the user. Is this normal or do I need to change something?

Thanks

Ignore this. I've found the section in the config. Apols.
