The new GroupJive events module, outside of the groups, is great! But it would also be good to have a calendar view available which would show perhaps a month-planner with event(s) marked on the applicable days with perhaps only the event title shown as a clickable link to the event details. Is there anything like this available already or planned any time soon?

There's plans in a future release to rewrite it into being a calendar, yes. There are no immediate plans though so I don't have a timeframe for when this would be available. There are also plans to support exporting the events to external calendars. It's possible to create your own calendar now though by querying for the event data, but you'd have to code that yourself.
