My webhost is asking me when CB no longer will be compatible with MySQL 5.7 - when is the latest they can update their servers to MySQL 8 ?

No urgency regarding Community Builder. We don't plan using MySQL 8.0 features at this time.

But it's an official requirement of Joomla 5.0, that's why we had put that advance notice.

So it will mainly depend on when you want to upgrade to Joomla 5.0 Joomla 4.4 has a 1 year maintenance plus 1 year security maintenance, so no rush.
