Sounds like profiles are inaccessible due to permissions. Ensure "Profile View Access Level" within CB > Configuration > User Profile is set to something registered users at least have permission to access. This ideally should just always be either Public or Registered and rarely changed. If already set then check if you're using CB Privacy and its profile privacy field.
As for why this could happen we're updating CB for PHP 8.1 and Joomla 4 strict compatibility. This means bug-features (bugs being abused as features) are closing as the code needs to be more strict to be compatible. Please be careful when configuring permissions as it's going to be harder and harder to abuse these. That profile access permission is 1 in particular. It still allows users-self to view their profile even if they don't meet the permission, but will bug out a lot of things by doing that.
