Is this correct behaviour?

Searching in a userlist for email,
using 'contains phrase', and entering a part of an email address, ie '@gmail.com'
throws a message 'Please enter a valid email address'.

This means it is not possible to search for users where you only know a part of the email address. ie domail name.

That'd be a bug. The email validation in that case shouldn't be applying. Have added a bug ticket to look into fixing for a future release.
