Thank you for the information.

After installing the English (USA) en-US language plugin and resetting the Joomla default language to English (United States) (en-US), the override in the Community Builder Default language (English) plugin did not change the output text.

Placing the override in the en-US Community Builder plugin did change the output text as expected.

Sounds like this is working as intended. If you installed en-US in Joomla then Joomla will tell CB to load en-US as well. If you installed en-US CB language plugin then that's where you need to put your language overrides. If you don't install the en-US language plugin it should fallback to the default language plugin where you would put your overrides.
