OK that explains a lot. Most of the custom assets were used inside the groups so now with groupjive.group.X.custom.xyz I can hugely simplify all the notification AA and push notif AA. I will alreaddy now get the other streams over to fit that scheme. The existing activity with the wrong stuff I will simply write an SQL query and change them.

For now your groupjive.group.X.custom.xyz usage is the valid usage to be using. As long as you follow that structure the migration will automatically handle migrating it perfectly. So for example it'd migrate as follows.
FROM: groupjive.group.X.custom.xyz
TO: group.X.xyz
I think the only issues that will come up is if an asset was completely made up without following a similar structure to core asset usages.
