BUT - maybe you should state this very clearly somewhere, that this has happended. Just talked to another Joomla! user, who had not noticed the probelm until I told him. Right now users can still recover for example their Header text (which can be very complex) on their registrations pages via google cache if they have no backup - but that will soon be gone fron google!
Based on this bug, is there a way to easy export and import basic settings for CB and its core plugins? And the same for CBsubs ? That would also make it easier to create new communty sites for eg sportsclubs and alike, where the basic settings are equal... just a suggestion, if it does not allready exixst
Settings are stored in the database with a plugin. Specifically the _comprofiler_plugin table. So if you need to move them between sites you should be able to do so directly within the database. At this time we don't have plans for import/export in CB > Plugin Management, but we've huge plans for how we deliver plugins in the future so that may change.
