Assigning User Group according GroupJive Group

4 years 1 month ago - 4 years 1 month ago #320949 by MarlonFungai
I have a number of special community groups using group jive that are joined by approval for new users (think technical support as a staff group). I need to be able to assign these new approved members to a corresponding group using auto actions. I have created what I think would work as an auto action the problem is I don't know how to create a condition that identifies which groups a user is part of so e.g. If user is in group 9 add them to user group technical. I also have to remove them from a user group when they leave the group jive group.

You should be able to use the gj_onAfterCreateUser trigger for that. Example as follows.

Global
Triggers: gj_onAfterCreateUser
Type: Usergroup
User: Automatic
Access: Everybody
Conditions
Field: Custom > Value
Custom Value: [var1_group]
Operator: Equal To
Value: 9
Action
Mode: Add Usergroups
Groups: SELECT_USERGROUPS_HERE

To remove them you'd use the below.

Global
Triggers: gj_onAfterDeleteUser
Type: Usergroup
User: Automatic
Access: Everybody
Conditions
Field: Custom > Value
Custom Value: [var1_group]
Operator: Equal To
Value: 9
Action
Mode: Remove Usergroups
Groups: SELECT_USERGROUPS_HERE

If the user should only get the usergroup once they're approved then you'll want to use the below instead of the first auto action above.

Global
Triggers: gj_onAfterUpdateUser
Type: Usergroup
User: Automatic
Access: Everybody
Conditions
Field: Custom > Value
Custom Value: [var1_group]
Operator: Equal To
Value: 9
AND
Field: Custom > Value
Custom Value: [var1_status]
Operator: Equal To
Value: 1
AND
Field: Custom > Value
Custom Value: [var2_status]
Operator: Not Equal To
Value: 1
Action
Mode: Add Usergroups
Groups: SELECT_USERGROUPS_HERE

That should give them the usergroup if they aren't approved and then become approved.
