Remove (or demote) GJ owner was created by endoc
I have a user that is designated as a GroupJive category owner that I need to make either Active or remove entirely. How can this be done? In the backend it does not allow for the user to be changed.

Categories don't have owners. Did you mean group owner? Group owner can be changed by editing the group (frontend or backend) as a CB Moderator and adjusting the Owner parameter.

Thank you for the correction. Yes, this would be Group owners.

I'm still having difficulty. in the backend (and while logged in as superuser), the ability to change the status of a user status is under the "User" menu, and not "Group". If I try to change the status from Owner to Admin, I get the following error:

Error
Failed to save User because: Group owner can not be demoted!

In the front end (While logged in as the groups other Owner) there is no option to demote the owner. You can see it there for the moderator, but not the owner.

Any thoughts of where or how I could be missing how to do this? Thanks for your help.

You can not demote a group owner. To change the group owner edit the group as a CB Moderator from frontend or simply edit from backend and change the Owner parameter to a different user id. This will automatically handle removing the user within CB GroupJive > Users.
