The purpose of the username is so they need 2 pieces of information to force a password reset. The only way to hide it is to set the Login Method within CB > Configuration > General to use email instead of username. Aside from that you'll need to wait for us to rewrite the forgot login which will just ask for email, which will send them a link, which then lets them reset on-site.
