Name field not saving in backend

Name field not saving in backend was created by rbuelund
I have got an odd problem. In the CB list of users in backend the Names of users shows correctly, but when I edit a CB profile in backend then the name field is empty. Also when I save with the name and opens again ??? If I open the User in Joomla user admin, then the name is there ??
The cb setting Name Style is "Single name field"

Are you registering or creating users correctly through CB only? Try using Synchronize Users tool in CB > Tools and see if issue persists.

The users were added with UserXTD, so CB was added afterwards. I have tried to sync but nothing happens with the problem.

I don't know what to suggest then as your users were not created through Joomla or CB, but a 3rd party solution. It should be pulling the name directly from the name column in _users for single name styling otherwise running synchronize users should split the name correctly to first, middle, and last.

Hmm.. changed to First and Lastname and then the names are there ??

Suggests that the name column in _users maybe empty as that's where we pull the name from for single name field usage. Recommend checking your database to make sure their names exist there.
